Is Your But Ruining Your Life?
No, I don't mean the one you sit on. I mean the one that often comes at the end of a statement. I mean the "but" that completely negates that statement. For example, I love you, BUT..... or I'm sorry BUT.... Let's face it, as soon as you add the "but", the I love you disappears into meaningless and the I'm sorry means you are not really sorry. That's not all; how about all the times you said you wanted something and added a "but"? Here are some examples: * I really want to take a vacation BUT I don't have enough time and money. What you are really saying is, "I don't want to take a vacation." I would love to meet someone special BUT I have to lose ten pounds first. What you are really saying is, "I don't want to meet someone special". * I would really like to move, BUT I don't know where to go" What you are really saying is "I don't want to move". If you really wanted to take a vacation, meet someone special or move, you would. Nothing would stand in your way.
If you were in a burning building, would you say "I want to get out BUT I'm too tired because I didn't get enough sleep last night"? When you have CHOSEN something, nothing stands your way; NOTHING! But until you have 100% chosen, the smallest obstacle can stop you from attaining what you want - or what you think you want. If you really want something, first CHOOSE IT! You know when you have really chosen because there are no "ifs, ands or buts"; it is a done deal! There is, however, your two legs, arms and brains that won't stop until you GET IT - and you will. This is called "getting out of your way". You might just discover that when you go on that vacation, you discover the place you want to move and your special love is waiting there for you. You activate the Universe to conspire on your behalf just by the act of choosing and then acting in behalf of your choice. Remember, choose wisely - young grasshopper!
